Number of Participants in 2018 Pilot Census Digital Stage Exceeded One Million

RTLabs developed an interactive census form for the e-Government portal

During the first All-Russian Pilot Census stage that took place between 1 and 10 October, Russian residents who have confirmed accounts on the Unified Public Services Portal ( could complete electronic census forms for themselves and their family members. The second regional stage of the Pilot Census will take place in 10 regions on October 16-31.  
According to preliminary results, more than one million Russian residents took part in the fist (digital) stage of the 2018 Pilot Census. With the number of involved households exceeding 460 thousand, 40 thousand households were registered daily on average. The peak of 90 thousand per day was reached during the last days of the Internet census.
“First and foremost, it was important for us to understand the attitude of the people to this service, to the census via the Internet. Now we can say that the results encourage optimism – over 40% of the Internet census participants found it an excellent initiative,” – said Deputy Minister for Russia’s Economic Development Savva Shipov. Women completed the electronic census forms more often than men – (70% of the total number of citizens). The most active participants were Russian citizens aged from 29 to 45. And the   oldest respondent was 125 years old.
The service gained the biggest popularity among residents of Sakhalin and Orenburg regions, as well as in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Republic of Altai. “During 10 days of the Internet census on, the number of unique users who created the forms exceeded one million. These are impressive figures, and their detailed analysis will help further improve the service quality and convenience,” says Mikhail Bondarenko, General Director of RTLabs.
