Rostelecom and RTLabs join WSIS Prizes international contest

The contest has attracted 477 projects from 91 countries

Among those vying for the prestigious award are projects Gosuslugi (Unified Public Services Portal and Mobile App), Unified Biometric System, Central Archive of Medical Images, Regional Medical Information System and Social Programme Digital Equality.
Anyone who registers at can vote, but their vote will count only if the voter gives scores to projects in all the eighteen Contest nominations.
After the popular vote, five champions (90 projects) will be singled out in each nomination, and then the jury will select one winner from each five.
In 2018 the contest attracted 477 projects from 91 countries.
The WSIS Prizes contest has been held since 2012 by the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), an institution established and supported by the United Nations with the participation of UNESCO, UNICEF and WHO. WSIS operations are arranged by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), a UN agency.
The objective of WSIS Prizes is to identify the achievements of countries, cities and regions in developing socially relevant IT services. Prizes are awarded to outstanding projects that help mobilize the ICT potential and facilitate social and economic development around the world. The purpose of the contest is to identify successful international experience for subsequent implementation in all spheres of life. Since the time of its establishment, the WSIS Awards contest has attracted over 200,000 participants from all over the world.
