Mobile Voter Service launched on Unified Public Services Portal

26 July

On a single voting day, 9 September 2018, regional and federal elections will be held

In a single voting day, on September 9, 2018, the elections of regional governors, members of the legislative (representative) bodies of the subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as by-elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in single-member constituencies will be held.
Residents of the regions where the voting will take place can participate in the elections through the Mobile Voter service on the Unified Public Services Portal (gosuslugi.ru) and in the Gosuslugi mobile application.
The service allows citizens to remotely select a convenient polling station in their regions or districts and be included in the voters lists at their current physical locations. Rostelecom in collaboration with its subsidiary RTLabs, a system integrator, are responsible for the project, commissioned by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, and the Federal Computerization Centre under the RF Central Election Commission.
The service is available for voters from July 25 to September 5, 2018, inclusive. To participate in the elections, the voters are required to choose a convenient polling station in their region or district, respectively (depending on the type of elections).
The voter can participate in the elections of the Moscow Mayor at any polling station in Moscow or select a polling station in the Kaluga, Vladimir and Tula regions.
To be included in the voters list at a current location, you need to specify the registered address in the Public Services Portal or in the mobile application, select the polling station and submit the application. You may file two applications: for participation in federal and regional elections – no later than September 5, 2018.
Once the application is processed, a confirmation and a printable part of the application with information about the selected polling station will be delivered to the Personal Cabinet.
In the single voting day, on September 9, you should bring with you your passport and a hard copy of the printable part of the application or its electronic version on your mobile device.
“The Mobile Voter allows a great number of voters to exercise their constitutional right while being away from their registered address on the single day of voting. As early as the first day of the service operation, we saw the growing number of citizens submitting applications as to exercise their will on the extraterritorial principle,” said Mikhail Bondarenko, Director for Electronic Government, Rostelecom PJSC.
For the first time, residents of 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation used the Mobile Voter in a single day of voting on September 10, 2017. To participate in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18, 2018, about 1.6 million applications were submitted for inclusion into the voter registers at the voters’ current locations.
