EPGU (Public Services) mobile app in the TOP 3 of the world’s best public services

Public Services Portal (EPGU) mobile app got in the top 3 of international mobile applications in the Best m-Government Service Award contest, category One Stop App, held at the World Government Summit in Dubai, UAE, on 12-14 February 2017.

The Russian project was presented at the summit by Mikhail Bondarenko, Director for E-Government at Rostelecom.

The World Government Summit is an annual international government summit held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Emir of Dubai. In 2017 it was attended by representatives of over 130 governments and international organizations. The summit serves as a platform for discussion of innovative approaches to public services, strategies for communication between public agencies and the people, and of the future of education and healthcare.

In 2016 the mobile app, available to all registered EGPU users, was used on iOS and Android by 40% and 60% of users respectively. The app is used by 2 million people every month. Since its launch in 2012 it has rendered over 9 million services, including 3 million in 2016. Last year users made through it 1.8 million payments worth over RUB 1.7 billion.

Most commonly, the app is used for checking the status of personal pension insurance accounts, requesting individual taxpayer numbers, filing applications to register a motor vehicle or obtain a driver’s licence. The current version of the app has been rated 4.5 out of 5 by app store users.
