Public Services wins the Golden App 2016 award

The mobile app of the Public and Services Portal (EPGU) has won the Golden App 2016 award in three nominations, coming first in two nominations (Lifestyle and Productivity, Services, Training) and third in the golden nomination The Best Brand App.

Winners were selected by general vote and by the jury. Each project was assessed on a ten-point scale by at least five jury members. 

The annual contest selects the best design, interfaces, technologies and new ideas from the applications that join the contest. The Golden App is successor to The Golden Website, an award given annually to RuNet Internet projects. In the autumn of 2015 the Golden Website award went to EPGU’s beta version in the nomination Government Project Website. It also came third in The Best Usability/UX, an additional nomination.

EPGU’s mobile app was launched in the spring of 2012 and was upgraded in 2015 as part of the EPGU beta version project. The app can be accessed from any mobile device using iOS, Windows Phone or Android. 

The app accepts requests for popular public e-services. My Applications section shows the status of all applications for public services. The Government Post section lists all notifications from government agencies to users. The app can be used to check and pay traffic penalties, taxes and legal fees. 

The mobile app can be accessed by all users registered on EPGU and offers access code functionality for data protection. The app is used by around 500,000 users on a monthly basis and has rendered around 9 million services. 

Users have rated the latest version of the service in app stores 4.5 out of 5.  

"The EPGU mobile app has become a familiar and convenient tool for hundreds of thousands of Russians using public services. The concept is that a user must be able to address multiple life situations, for example, request a service, pay penalties, taxes or fees at any time and at any place. We are happy about the victory we really deserve and will continue to work with our key customer, the Telecom Ministry, to develop the app making it even more useful," said Alisa Korzhenevskaya, Director for E-Government Information Systems Development, RT Labs.
