Over 200,000 Russians used gosuslugi.ru to choose polling stations

More than 37 thousand online applications, a record number, were submitted on September 5  

In a single voting day, on September 9, 2018, the elections of regional governors, members of the legislative (representative) bodies of the subjects of the Russian Federation, as well as by-elections of deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation in single-member constituencies will be held in 37 RF subjects.
In the period starting on July 25, 2018, residents of the participating regions were able to use the Mobile Voter service to choose a polling station within their region or district. More than 800 thousand citizens have used this opportunity, with the peak of their activity seen from August 29 to September 5, when the number of applications submitted by the Russian citizens for registration in the voters lists exceeded 600,000.
The applications could be submitted online via the gosuslugi.ru portal or personally at the territorial electoral commissions, district polling station commissions or multi-function centres for provision of public and municipal services (MFC). About 220 thousand applications were submitted electronically via the gosuslugi.ru portal and Gosuslugi mobile application.  The number of online applications submitted on September 5, the closing day of the campaign, hit a record of 37 thousand.
Women used the Mobile Voter service more often than men (55% of the total number of citizens). The most active mobile voters were Russians aged 18-24 (over 70% of the total number of online applicants).
The service was most popular with residents of Moscow, as well as regions of Moscow, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk. The list of the most “mobile” regions also includes regions of Rostov and Omsk, Altai and Krasnoyarsk Krais and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
For the first time, residents of 20 constituent entities of the Russian Federation used the Mobile Voter in a single day of voting on September 10, 2017. To participate in the elections of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18, 2018, over 1.64 million applications were submitted by the citizens wishing to be included into the voter registers at the voters’ current locations.
The project commissioned by the RF Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media and the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation is implemented by RTLabs, Rostelecom’s key technology partner in charge of the e-government development and operation.
